She spent 14 years in high-end luxury retail and was part of the opening teams for many of Aspen’s flagship stores including Chanel, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Prada. Her experience in high end fashion and intimate knowledge of the luxury aesthetic provided her with a foundation for design as she moved on to pursue her dream of building custom homes and doing her own interior design. “I built my own home and then built several other spec homes in the valley. In 2007 I realized I needed to get my real estate license, and that turned into working in real estate for the last nine years,” she says. “I also love interior design, which gets incorporated into staging homes to maximize their value.”Kimberly is not only passionate about the homes she designs, builds and sells for her own account, but is equally passionate about the homes she finds and lists for her clients. Originally from Minnesota, Kimberly moved to the valley in 1994 after graduating from college and living in Europe for four years, but her family ties to Aspen go back a lot farther than that. “My family has been coming here since 1957, so I’d visited a lot as a little girl, and it had a huge impact on me.” Kimberly followed in the footsteps of her Uncle Magne Nostdahl, who settled in Aspen from Bergen, Norway, along with Stein Erickson and several other Norwegians who were part of the Aspen Skiing Company. She joined the company as the Market Coordinator in hotel sales in 1992 and is still highly sought after as a private ski instructor to this day. After nine years in real estate, Kimberly has found her home at Engel & Volkers, and is thrilled to be part of the global luxury brand. “It feels like a family,” she says. “I’m so happy to be somewhere where I have great support from people that really care.”What she brings to the table … “I’m really good with people and love working with both buyers and sellers,” she says. “I’m also willing to hustle and go the distance for my clients. I once saw 22 homes in three days. I will go deep.” Kimberly says she’s also known for her patience. “People like working with me because I don’t rush them. If they want something quick, I can do that, too. But I have the patience to wait until we find the perfect fit for your wants and needs.”On a personal note … “I’m pretty passionate about skiing have seen skiing on these mountains since I was a little girl. I’m also obsessed with tennis.” Kimberly says. “And I love my kids and my dogs.”
