Highlands Closing on April 13 is a fun Aspen celebration that marks the end of the ski season and the closing of all the ski mountains. However, Aspen and Snowmass mountains will be open through April 20, 2014, for the late Easter holiday. Further, the Ski Company just announced that Aspen Mountain will be open for two additional weekends through May 4, 2014, because of the great snowfall this season. This extension provides home buyers with a longer window of opportunity to capitalize on this excellent time to purchase a home before the end of the season.
With the extension of the ski year by a few extra weeks, Portfolio Aspen Properties believes that opportunities for buying real estate will only increase, during what’s already an excellent real estate month. “April is a key time for Aspen homes,” says Erik Berg, owner of Portfolio Aspen Properties. “And with skiers and snowboarders excited about April’s extended season, it’s a win-win. Buyers are excited to find their perfect snow retreat, and sellers are hoping to make a deal before summertime.”
Aspen has two major but short selling seasons. The winter season lasts from the December holidays through the end of the ski season in April, and the summer season lasts from mid-June through Labor Day. Winter-oriented homes tend to go on the market during the winter months, and by the end of the winter season, sellers are eager to make a sale so they don’t have to carry the home to the next selling season in the summer.
Portfolio Aspen Properties ensures that buyers see all properties that meet their criteria and that sellers’ properties reach their target audience of potential buyers. For more information on Portfolio Aspen Properties’ real estate, call or email us.
